India is seeing significant high ratio of school drop outs. Below are the statistics representing ​data of school dropouts.

National Statistical Office (NSO) performed a survey in year 2021 and presented the following;

• 17.5% students drop out at primary level
• 19.8% students drop out at secondary level
• Overall at-least 30% students drop out at school level from various states in India.

Major Reasons for High Drop Out Rates

• Deficiency of resources
• Lack of importance on qualitative teaching methodology
• Lack of focus on conceptual learnings
• Limited audio video mode of learnings and knowledge sharing
• Limited mentorship and support system

As a volunteer, you need to follow certain guidelines:

• Search for just 1 child in your vicinity who wants to learn online
• Engage with the child online just for 3 hours per week (Example on Google meet)
• Share your learning of concepts of various subjects relating to his grade
• Use the curriculum videos provided to you
• Do not charge any fees and / or pay any money to any child or their parent
• Do not engage in any immoral or wrong behavior with the child
• Keep reaching out to the mentor community in order to learn more about how you can do better
